This is an update on a story I posted earlier Friday about Glassman’s staff.
Three Sonorans was able to talk to the Glassman campaign’s Blake Morlock, who contacted the TucsonCitizen editor to take the original story down. He was unable to tell me how many staffers they have, but could only tell me that no one had left. I then spoke to the communications director Dawn Teo.
You may remember Dawn Teo as saying that Rose Mofford hadn’t switched sides and is still supporting Rodney Glassman.
Dawn Teo, a Glassman spokeswoman, said Saturday that Mofford hadn’t switched sides and was still supporting Glassman.
But Mofford told The Arizona Republic that she has known the “very well-qualified” Eden since she was a baby, while she was unfamiliar with Glassman until he emerged as a likely Democratic Senate candidate. Eden’s father was on the Arizona Corporation Commission and Cathy Eden served in Mofford’s administration from 1988 to 1991.
“I explained to him (Glassman) this morning, and he understood perfectly, that I’ve known the Edens for years and years and years,” Mofford said Saturday. “I’m not out to hurt any candidate. I don’t want to hurt anybody. I’m just telling people that they have a choice.”
Blake Morlock also got involved in this lie, and even Pima County Sheriff Dupnik had to call him on it.
Eden has pictures of Mofford holding her as a baby. She also worked for Mofford as a member of the governor’s Cabinet, but Glassman’s spokesman Blake Morlock wasn’t giving any ground. “In no way is she leaving our campaign. She wants to help a Democrat get elected and knows that Rodney Glassman is the best chance to beat John McCain in the fall,” Morlock said, noting she’s still a co-chair.
Not so, says Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, who talked to Mofford a few days ago since he’s the one who asked her for the Glassman endorsement. The bottom line is she’ll back Glassman if he wins the primary, but until or if that happens, she’s supporting Eden, “who is basically like a member of her family,” Dupnik said.

For what it’s worth, this announcement of Rose Mofford being co-chair of Glassman’s campaign and is still on the Glassman webpage even though it’s been proven to be untrue, unless you are calling Rose Mofford and Sheriff Dupnik liars, that is. I told this to Dawn Teo before she hung up on me.
During our conversation, however, she said that any big disagreement that took place was “nothing out of the ordinary” and that all 4 people were still employed by the campaign. I asked for their contact info to verify and she absolutely refused to give it to me.
To recap, I made repeated calls to the Phoenix office and no one would answer, and I got through to the Tucson office and they said they don’t know who anyone is, and to call the Phoenix office, which I did again and got no answer.
Now, Three Sonorans would like to verify the story, but I have no access to the people involved. So maybe they still work for the campaign, maybe they don’t, but there is no way for me to verify, especially when the campaign is so secretive.
So, Three Sonorans has no problem saying he doesn’t know the whole story, and there was no big fight after Glassman got beat up on Tuesday’s debate, and everyone is still happily working for Rodney Glassman.
They would probably be volunteers if Glassman didn’t have so much money because they like him that much.
I challenge the “real” media… those that actually get paid to do this, to follow up and ask each of these people what happened. Maybe Dawn will give you their contact info, since she refuses to give it to me.
After watching Tuesday’s debate below, is Rodney Glassman the candidate you would want to support? No wonder people are leaving his campaign and joining with the other candidates, the true progressives for US Senate to replace John McCain.
