Rodney Glassman staff is still “happily working” for campaign

cropped-TSON.jpg

This is an update on a story I posted earlier Friday about Glassman’s staff. UPDATE: Three Sonorans was able to talk to the Glassman campaign’s Blake Morlock, who contacted the TucsonCitizen editor to take the original story down. He was unable to tell me how many staffers they have, but could only tell me that no one had left. I then spoke to the communications director Dawn Teo. You may remember Dawn Teo as saying that Rose Mofford hadn’t switched sides and is still supporting Rodney Glassman. Dawn Teo, a Glassman spokeswoman, said Saturday that Mofford hadn’t switched sides and […]

Dear cops, what part of ILLEGAL don’t you understand?

cropped-TSON.jpg

First Krentz, the white rancher, was killed. There is still no suspect, nor any evidence as to who did it, but speculation was all that was necessary for people, including Democrats such as Gabrielle Giffords, to use this to increase fear of immigrants and to militarize the border. Then an officer in Pinal County was shot. He was all alone, away from his car, and then said that a drug cartel shot at him with advanced weaponry shot at him. I knew this was a lie because if it was true, he would not be alive to talk about it. […]

Obama will attempt Immigration Reform without Congress

cropped-TSON.jpg

President Obama, seemingly frustrated with the Congress lack of courage to tackle comprehensive immigration reform, will use his power as Chief Executive of the United States of America to reform immigration as much as he can. This move gives hope to hundreds of thousands of protesters who have publicly demonstrated against Arizona’s SB1070, which became law yesterday, July 29th 2010. Their voices have been heard, but now is the time for action. One key provision, which has the Republicans up in arms, includes “deferred action,” where an immigrant is not deported if they haven’t committed certain crimes. The source of […]

Photographers in Tucson and Phoenix among those arrested today – UPDATE

cropped-TSON.jpg

Today Three Sonorans almost got arrested multiple times for trying to capture today’s actions, and my good friend Layla, a photographer also capturing today’s events, was the first one to get arrested today, even though she was not one of the protesters. Layla was released Thursday evening and was still able to save the images she captured (stay tuned…) It seems something similar happened in Phoenix today. Police in full riot gear grabbing up whoever is in their path. Ask questions later. ‘Republic’ photographer detained during immigration protest by Craig Harris – Jul. 29, 2010 The Arizona Republic In a […]

Police make first arrest at state building in Tucson (VIDEO)

cropped-TSON.jpg

The resistance to SB1070 took place as planned at the state building in Tucson on July 29th. The only arrest so far has been from a hateful pro-SB1070 person who just couldn’t stand so many brown people exercising their first amendment rights. I captured footage of him earlier on my camera which I can upload later, but this is video from a hand-held device taken by Derechos Humanos. Tucson resists SB1070 becoming law today (VIDEO)

cropped-TSON.jpg

Three Sonorans has been called all kinds of names today, told to go back to Mexico, asked to show my papers, and more… While the TEA Party and Pima County Republicans bash “illegals” on one corner, the progressive side fights against injustice. The federal court ruled that parts of SB1070 may be unconstitutional. What part of an ILLEGAL law does the pro-SB1070 side not understand? Buy Three Sonorans a coffee! The gloves come off in US Senate democratic debate (VIDEO)

cropped-TSON.jpg

The 4 US Senate candidates in the democratic primary had a debate on July 27th, 2010 at KAET 8 studios in Phoenix. It is guaranteed not to bore you! The gloves finally come off and the candidates get to go back and forth with each other. Randy Parraz finally gets Rodney Glassman to answer the question on gay marriage. Glassman says NO to marriage licenses for same sex couples. John Dougherty also calls Glassman to task for not answering the questions he is asked, and even Cathy Eden throws a few jabs at the inexperienced former Tucson City Councilmember who […]
