The GOP Plan for the Future of Arizona

cropped-TSON.jpg

The GOP Plan for the Future of Arizona by Three Sonorans The stakes have never been higher in the state of Arizona. Unfortunately the Arizona Republican Party has been hijacked by organizations that have a sinister plan for their vision of Arizona. Mega profits off of public money for the new slavery. The plan involves 5 key people, 4 of which are up for election this year. Each one plays an important role and has a link with everyone else. I could write an entire thesis on this, but I provide a short summary here for you to consider before […]

What came first, the racism or the profit motive?

cropped-TSON.jpg

Chaparral respects no borders asks the question in the title and has an excellent analysis of the recent “big news” going on in Arizona today. SB1070 and private prison profits. NPR covered this story last week, even the local TV news started covering this, finally, but this link has been know for a while now. Thank goodness for the blogs exposing this! What came first: the Racism or the Profit Motive? On Private Prisons’ push for SB1070 The private prisons’ involvement in passing SB1070 illuminates an aspect of the anti-immigrant tendency that complicates things and is often overlooked. Often the […]

Jan Brewer drives drunk, causes accident on freeway, but is granted immunity

cropped-TSON.jpg

Jan Brewer really is above the law and was granted immunity as a state senator for a car crash she caused on I-17 while driving drunk. The Phoenix News Times got their hands on the police report from Jan Brewer’s drinking and driving that caused an accident on I-17. They include the PDF of the report and the four field sobriety test that she failed, they mention she had bloodshot eyes, reeked of booze, and couldn’t talk straight. You may wonder, well, can’t talk straight, does that mean she’s drunk everyday? She couldn’t stand on one leg She couldn’t tilt […]

BlogForArizona gets involved with blogger bash by Brodesky

cropped-TSON.jpg

Last week the Arizona Daily Star published a column by Josh Brodesky basically bashing on bloggers and how much more noble “real” journalists were. Three Sonorans was one of the first to reply: Brodesky ends his rant on bloggers by talking about how much more fair and balanced his newspaper is (compared to Ted Prezelski and the rest of us). Except for one thing Josh… you guys can’t bite the hand that feeds you. Remember when Jim Click pulled his advertisement from your newspaper? And where are all the newspaper stories exposing the Southern Arizona Leadership Council (SALC). They have […]

Final AG debate showdown: Rotellini vs Horne (VIDEO)

cropped-TSON.jpg

As the final weekend before election day comes to an end, the candidates for Attorney General go at it one more time on Fox 10 in Phoenix. Issues include Prop 200, SB1070, and why as the current superintendent, absolutely no teacher groups are endorsing Tom Horne… Former Republican AGs are endorsing, and running ads for Rotellini also. To me this is one of the top three most important races, and I strongly encourage voters to vote for Rotellini. http://media2.myfoxphoenix.com/video/2010/10/28/attygen9p102810.flv Buy Three Sonorans a coffee! Nobel prize winner warns of danger of GOP victory

cropped-TSON.jpg

Nobel Prize winner and columnist for the NY Times, Paul Krugman, warns about how bad things might be after Republicans regain control of the House. This is going to be terrible. In fact, future historians will probably look back at the 2010 election as a catastrophe for America, one that condemned the nation to years of political chaos and economic weakness. via Divided We Fail – NYTimes.com. The following reason Krugman gives for the reason to be worried sums it up the best: Another recent interview by National Journal, this one with Mitch McConnell, the Senate minority leader, has received […]

Ruben Reyes, one of Grijalva's top staff, caught stealing McClung signs? (VIDEO)

cropped-TSON.jpg

If you guys don’t know who Ruben Reyes is, he’s Raul Grijalva’s top aide who does his dirty work for him. Over the summer you may recall some articles I wrote about harassment from the Grijalva camp because I was supporting Randy Parraz instead of Raul Grijalva’s favorite Fresno grape farmer Rodney Glassman. I had to take those articles down because he got even madder. Who got madder? Ruben Reyes. I’ve seen Ruben over and over again at events, and his wife, councilwoman Regina Romero has been nice to me, but Ruben will never speak to me directly. Instead he […]

Some polls have Grijalva down by 2 points to McClung

cropped-TSON.jpg

With the advent of cell phones, traditional polling accuracy has taken a nosedive. Nevertheless, results from polls can still be a bit informative. In the CD 7 race in Arizona, what the polls are suggesting is that reelection for 8 year incumbent Raul Grijalva is not guaranteed against 28 year old Ruth McClung, a self-described “rocket scientist” who works at Raytheon. If a Bachelors degree in Physics makes one a rocket scientist, then does a Bachelors degree in physiology make one a brain surgeon? Some polls even have Grijalva down by 2 points to McClung, who has the support of […]

Sheriff Arpaio's voter suppression army

cropped-TSON.jpg

The sheriff of Maricopa County AZ, Joe Arpaio is a man who should be protecting voters, not suppressing them. But in a recent mailer, Arpaio said that he will “stop illegals from stealing the election” with his “grassroots army.” We learned from Arpaio’s SB1070, that he has no problem deciding who is undocumented simply by their hair, shoes, accents and race. You can act now and send a message to the Justice Department demanding that they send election monitors to Arizona immediately to stop Arpaio from intimidating voters. http://bit.ly/ProtectOurVote Also, be sure to print off a voter protection card and […]

Vote YES on 203 – medical marijuana (VIDEO)

cropped-TSON.jpg

Vote YES on 203 – medical marijuana by Science Sonoran “Some of my finest hours have been spent on my back veranda, smoking hemp and observing as far as my eye can see.” – Thomas Jefferson Three Sonorans strongly supports any legislation that returns mankind to its natural relationship with a living plant from the Creator, whether you believe that is God or from the tree of life, all cousins in DNA. Vote YES on 203! I’m going to try a different type of argument. Usual arguments against legalization of marijuana (which was originally legal) are similar to two of […]
