Trump just got caught in a big lie, after news emerged that the FBI did indeed brief him on the memo concerning Russia and its efforts to gain intel on him.
The news is particularly groundbreaking, as the President-elect accused CNN’s Jim Acosta of spreading “fake news” after the network reported on the memo, Trump’s prior knowledge of it, and the information contained therein. FBI director James Comey apparently gave the President-elect the briefing in a one-on-one meeting on Friday, according to CNN’s Jim Sciutto:

President-elect Trump referred to the author(s) of the memo as “sick people” at his Wednesday press conference, disputing previous claims that he had been briefed on the Russia report. Trump took time to blast both CNN, which reported on the two-page synopsis of the 35-page dossier, and BuzzFeed, which published the dossier in its entirety roughly an hour later.
“As far as BuzzFeed, which is a failing pile of garbage, I think they’re going to suffer the consequences,” Trump said. “They already are. And as far as CNN goes, they’re going out of their way to build [the memo] up.”
Sean Spicer, Trump’s press secretary, also piled on.
“The fact that BuzzFeed and CNN made the decision to run with this unsubstantiated claim is a sad and pathetic attempt to get clicks,” Spicer said. “The report is not an intelligence report, plain and simple.”
As of this writing, the President-elect has not yet responded to these latest reports.
