Comités de Defensa del Barrio: The Rights of Indigenous Peoples as Migrant Workers http://cdb-tonatierra.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-rights-of-indigenous-peoples-as.html ~via @Peta_de_Aztlan
Mexico. – Members of the Community Police of Tixtla Township of Guerrero gained entry to Chilpancingo, armed and supported by 2500 teachers of the State Coordinator of Education Workers in Guerrero CETEG.
The statutes of the Regional Coordinator of Community Authorities (CRAC), provides that community policing forces cannot leave their indigenous jurisdiction, so as not to intersect the zone of institutional state police.
The Mexican Army implemented a checkpoint at the highpoint of of the colony of Indeco on the Chilpancingo-Chilapa state road, in order that the armed community police could not enter the state capital.
arrived armed with small caliber rifles, and who remained in the middle of the contingent, and so the military could not stop them.
The contingent then headed to the offices of the Attorney General’s Office to protest the arrest of teacher Mario Torres Durán during the blockade of the Highway of del Sol, and demanding his release.
The contingent also then went on to the PGR to liberate the commander of community police, Naúm Santos Bartalo who was arrested last night by the army and state police for carrying a class of firearm reserved exclusively for the armed forces.
Upon reaching the checkpoint, the commander Naúm Santos Bartalo was released and returned to the community of teachers CETEG by the state director of governance, this “exchange” was made in order to persuade the community mobilization from entering Chilpancingo, however this plan did not work as then the teachers union protected the armed elements of Community Police and as they entered the city from right in front of the eyes of the military.

This is the exact same racial discrimination, racial profiling and genocide that is EVIDENT in Arizona where the Anglo-American and Latino-Hispanic power structures collide, compete, and collude to ignore and dismiss the positions of the Nican Tlacah, communities and historical organizations of the Nations and Pueblos of Indigenous Peoples of Arizona such as TONATIERRA.
The campaign calls for the elites to provide the only feasible option (politically) to the manufactured immigration crisis ignited by the fuse of AZ SB1070, (namely integration and assimilation into empire: papers that please not positions that challenge) while excluding the political position of the Nations and Pueblos of Indigenous Peoples of Abya Yala in terms of the DEMAND for decolonization and the Right of Self Determination. Thus, under classic Shock Doctrine tactics, the “Americanization” of the immigrant Rights movement will Corral into the Concepts of OK the most vulnerable in exchange for minority group status and civil rights under the US Constitution. The Extra-Constitutional status and international sovereignty of Indigenous Nationhood in not even allowed to be conceptualized in terms of policy solutions to the 1492 immigration issues, nor the local strategies of indigenous community based organizing in defense of the Human Rights. Only assimilated need apply….
Muchas gracias for this. I could not agree with you more. I respect your historical perspective and the years of experiences and struggles so that my generation could succeed. Gracias por eso tabien. We will not let neoliberal Arizona beat the true so…
If I was young, healthy, and had some money, I’d be right out there with you. Do you accept donations? Maybe in June, I can donate a couple dollars. In the meantime, I will post and repost this. Your tone and conciseness is perfect! We need to get all other ethnic groups involved. If this was happening to them, I know that we would be there to support them. God bless you and may the sun of the U. S. begin to shine in everyone’s hearts again.
In the United States, criminal law is arguably the most complex area of law, since it comprises a wide range of concepts. As a result of this, there are a wide range of available attorneys that specialize in criminal defense. A good criminal attorney w…

Great, creative, and motivating article! And, so true!
keep teaching, don’t give up !
http://roxa70.blogspot.com/ and please visit my blog to consolidate the Mexican People, uno por uno until we are united to bececome the Leading Country of the World!
We will take this to International Courts and have ou property back to its rightful owners for violations of the treaty!
Now We admit the Mexicans have issues that need to be corrected and addressed. Just to mention a few: We the- non- white need to stop talking (crap racist nonsense) like blaming the white people for everything like the Blacks do, who are like the Minuteman or anti-immigrant racist groups (always blaming the illegal immigrants for everything). And another is assimilation of the language and usage, stop promoting immigration to the US and work for a solution at the Courts, ballots, community, schools and even at work! peacefully. Because the majority of good white American people out there have nothing to do with the racists. And are against it. Just as there are a lot of us who do not like what some Mexicans do.or just because we have a lot of bad trashy Mexicans (I include myself in this category in the proccess of making progress hello?) doesn`t mean that all Mexicans are the same, or that all Americans are the same.! We all need to make changes here in the United States and in Mexico. We have to because we are neighbors. I suggest that we can start, by, providing all these Mexicans here who can’t speak Spanish some classes so they can enrich themselves and likewise with the immigrants who can not speak English or don’t want to. We also have to give them some basic immigration law classes because most of them are ignorant about our US-MEXICO Immigration laws. Just because this country gave them a crossing card, visa, green card or naturalization doesn’t mean that they are Americans. They are still Mexicans according to our Constitution. They will truly be Americans when they begin to participate in the change of attitude towards their own co-nationals and fellow Americans, and by participating in ways to change our governments here and in Mexico. Working hard in making this next immigration reform a success and not a failure for example. That’s one way we can start loving each other and have some togetherness and progress. Because, there is a lot of separation and hate between ourselves, but is mostly ignorance. not only here in the U.S. but at home too. In a country politically divided 50/50 just like the U.S. is. Mexicans speak badly not only about Americans but to their own paisanos (countryman) as well. Let`s End our differences All of us Mexicans,Whites, Blacks, Chicanos, and every race in America. beginning with us the Chilangos, fronterizos, nortenos, surenos, Indian, Spaniard, mestizos rich, poor, priistas, panistas, perredistast it is absolutely wrong to fight between ourselves and that has to stop! Or We can get charged with treason to the Republic in Mexico and here in the US We as Mexicans talking bad about our own race and putting All or some mexicans down means putting ourselves down. And that can be used against us by the Racists! who keep gaining laws passed to their own advantage, is a great time to come together like we always do in semana santa (easter, christmas, dia del grito, Independence day., thanksgiving.LETS END THIS CONFUSING SEPARATION WE ARE SPANISH AND INDIAN LETS ACCEPT THE MIXTURE IS A GREAT MIX, WE HAVE IT ALL TO SET AN EXAMPLE TO THE US & THE WORLD, TO BE FOLLOWED. We need a reform not only in our government but within ourselves. We need to love one another and unite to reform the US government which is Corrupted as Mexico is corrupted. To change these corrupt Governments and ourselves to fight for our rights in the US and wherever we are, write letters to your government leaders, start rallies, vote, & participate to change both Governments now is the time! Raza!-people!

“We call upon the ministers of government at all levels of Canada-US-Mexico and the public constituencies of their respective societies to address without prejudice or discrimination the above clarifications. We assert that these clarifications command rectification of the crime of colonialism and a moratorium on all NAFTA economic development projects impacting the territories of the Nations and Pueblos of Indigenous Peoples until the right of Free, Prior and Informed Consent of the Indigenous Peoples is fully recognized, respected, and protected in the spirit of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.”
Couldn’t agree more… http://turangawaewae.wordpress.com/2011/10/22/occupy-wall-street-the-power-of-words/
Love the poster design. My sister is at the LA Occupy, can anyone help with a poster for the LA Indigenous Occupation?
The boycott must continue until our brothers and sisters in Arizona have justice they deserve.
AZ SB1070 is the fuse that ignited the onslaught of legislation coming out of Arizona that exploded into normalization of the “police state” paradigm across the country, under disguise as the Secure Communities immigration enforcement measures, when in effect these pogroms are nothing more than the violent realization within the demographic sweep of today’s America of the continuation of the Nightmare of the Doctrine of Manifest Destiny.
Thanks Tupac for fighting the good fight! If you read past the first several paragraphs on Gerald Lewis, possible candidate for LD 18 in Mesa, you’ll find a plea for tax deductible donations to ALEC to underwrite 30 Arizona legislators to go the annual conference in New Orleans the beginning of August. ALEC is the “educational” group providing the “training” for legislators to disseminate proposals such as the recent Arizona slew bills such as SB 1160: Mesa resident may take on Pearce in Nov.
